We always suggest you consider a brand new stairlift where possible given the warranty cover and peace of mind you receive but we understand that sometimes there may be financial constraints that this might not be possible. If this isn’t a consideration, the good news is that we do indeed offer second hand stairlifts that have been rigorously reconditioned. It should be noted that the majority of these stairlifts are straight stairlifts. Curved reconditioned stairlifts are very much a rarity in respect to finding one that will be applicable to another home given that the dimensions of most staggered or curved staircases are almost unique. Whereas reconditioned straight stairlifts are much more likely to be of use in another home given the right rail length and steepness of the staircase.

How much is a reconditioned stairlift?
Reconditioned stairlifts start at approximately £1,100. which includes stairlift installation. These pre-owned stairlifts are fully reconditioned and tested rigorously. Note – for curved stairlifts this can be considerably more.
Does anyone buy second hand stairlifts?
There are many different types of second hand stairlifts as well as curved and straight stairlifts. Depending on the make, model and the year a second hand stairlift may be worth something. Generally, straight stairlifts are potentially more saleable, since a curved stairlift is usually bespoke to the staircase they were originally built for.
What can I do with an old stairlift?
Have your used stairlift removed by a professional stairlift engineer and a reputable company. Whilst if looks easy enough to remove, it is quite easy to damage the walls etc when taking one out.
Can you obtain a reconditioned curved stairlift?

Is it better to buy a new stairlift?
If possible it is better to buy a new stairlift. Unlike reconditioned stairlifts, you will be getting a product that is new and under full warranty.

Do stairlift engineers normally install used stairlifts?
